The 2005 USA Sieger Show will soon be here!

Come join us in the high desert of the Reno and Carson City area of Nevada for the 2005 USA Sieger Show. The United Schutzhund Clubs of America and the Blue Tahoe Schutzhund Club are your hosts this year. We've planned a fun filled and exciting weekend. You won't want to miss this one!

News

Attention: The show secretary has left for Reno and will no longer be available by email. If you need to reach her, you may call the host hotel and leave a message.

Attention: The Sunday Night Mixer is cancelled. If you need to still make a reservation for the Saturday night Judges & Breeders Reception, please call the host hotel and leave a message for Margi Ross.

Attention: Click here if you wish to sign-up to attend either seminar. More details can be found in the show scheule on the Participants page.

Attention: If you would like to make arrangements for tent, table, and/or chair rental for the show, please contact Camelot Party Rentals by phone 775-355-9004 or by fax 775-355-9042. This is the company that we are using for the show and they will be delivering all of the rental items on Thursday (April 121) to the show grounds.

Attention: If you have a Working Class dog entered that is in the running for Universal Sieger, please email the show secretary. Thank you.

Attention: The dog deposit at the host hotel will be $50 and 100% refundable. It may be taken in the form of an authorization on a credit card or by cash. It the guest pays the deposit by cash, the guest will receive a cash refund. If the guest chooses to have the deposit via an authorization on credit card, the procedure will be: to not add the amount to the total bill at check out.

Attention: The start time for Saturday has changed to 8 am. The Performance Test will begin at 8:00 am sharp. Dogs will be tested in catalog order, males then females.

Attention: We've added Performance Test practice time to Friday. Please check the Participants section and the schedule.

Attention: Our closing awards ceremony on Sunday will be when the Kennel Group, top 5 places for the Youth and Young dog classes, the V1 - V5 Working dogs, all the VA dogs, and the Highest Rated USA Bred dogs will receive their trophies. Please allow enough time in your schedule Sunday afternoon to attend the ceremony.

Attention: 50% of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the United States War Dogs Association, Inc. This is a very worthy cause and if you would like more information about them, please visit their website.

Attention: We are pleased to announce that the sieger show will be filmed this year. We have contracted with Crystal Video and we hope you will support them. For more information, please visit their website.

Attention: We are very pleased to annouce that ActiveDogs.com is donating equipment for a special raffle that will be held at the show grounds. The equipment will be on display there and the winning number will be selected at the end of the show on Sunday.

Attention: The deadline for catalog ads was April 1st. The catalog is now in it's final stages and no more ads can be accepted at this time.

Attention: Entries are now closed. The final postmark deadline was March 22. The office will only process entries that have a postmark of March 22 or earlier. There will be absolutely no exceptions. Your USA office staff is working overtime to get all of the entries processed in time to meet the printers deadline for the catalog. We are sorry if you have missed the final deadline and thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

This would be an informal gathering exclusive to our group in the hotel's "The Top" restaurant/night club. This is the only rooftop restaurant in Reno. It has quite the view! We thought this might be a good way for people to get together and wind down after the Sieger Show is over.

Interactive map with hotel marked. Also shows location of many nearby parks. The closest park is just one block south of the hotel. The hotel takes up almost the entire block where it is located.

The actual directions for the show are being created by the local club so there won't be any errors.

Beautiful Lake Tahoe is within a 1 hour drive, the breathtaking Sierra Mountains are just minutes away, and don't forget all the Gold and Silver mines in the area.

The state capital, Carson City, is where the stadium is located. The town has a rich history and also has much to offer.

Suggestion Box

Drop us a line with your suggestions of how we can improve the experience for everyone participating in the sieger show. Let us know what you like and dislike. Future Sieger Shows

Is your club interested in co-hosting a sieger show with USA? We really need to get ahead in our planning, so bids are being accepted for the 2006 sieger show and future years. For more information, please contact Karen MacIntyre or Margi Ross

Some items to consider:

• The show should be scheduled in the spring each year. April is the best month. May is out due to airline embargoes for heat. March can be too wet and too early for people living in snow areas (for training preparation purposes). The date will need to be approved by the NEC (national events committee). You should make sure there are no major conflicts with the date (daylight savings beginning, other major events, or Easter).
• USA is the show host, but needs a local club to co-host and coordinate local tasks. In 2003 (the first year of USA hosting the show) the local club choose to let USA have all of the show proceeds. Last year and this year, the local clubs did and will receive a percentage of the proceeds. Therefore, your club's intention should be to help put on a great event for the participants, not to make money.
• The local club needs to have experience hosting conformation shows, hopefully at the regional level. There is a lot of work for the local club to do especially the weekend of the show.
• The local club should have people that are organized and goal orientated.
