The Breed Advisory Committee decided to utilize two judges this year instead of four to judge all of the classes at the show. Suggestions were made, a vote was taken, then the following final slate of judges was approved by the Executive Board. Use the links provided to learn more about each judge.

Mr. Erich Orschler, SV Vice President ~ will judge all of the Male Classes, the Progeny Groups, and the Kennel Groups.

Mr. Johannes Grewe, USA National Breed Warden ~ will judge all of the Female Classes, the Progeny Groups, and the Kennel Groups.

Mr. Mark Przybylski, USA Director of Judges ~ will judge the Performance Test for all dogs.

 

 

 

 

Our Guest Judge: Mr. Erich Orschler ~ from Germany and Vice President of the SV

• Profession: Owner and CEO of a Medical Technology Corporation.
• Member of the SV since 1955.
• Breed Judge since 1971 and Koermeister since 1974.
• Being a member of the SV BAC since 1974, Mr. Orschler shows a tremendous responsibility in the election of new Breed Judges.
• As a world wide well respected Judge of German Shepherd Dogs. Mr. Orschler has judged 3 world shows, 8 SV Sieger Shows and and Sieger Shows in all the WUSV countries.
• Having served the SV on many different levels Mr. Orschler has received all SV Awards in the sector of breeding and training of GSDs.
• His biggest achievement however is the success of his world renown kennel "von Batu". The list of extreme accomplishments since his first litter of German Shepherd Dogs in 1959 is endless and crowned by the 2000 SV Sieger Ursus von Batu.

Our Judge: Mr. Johannes Grewe ~ from California and National Breed Warden for USA

• Profession: Operates a law enforcement K-9 consulting business.
• Member of the SV since 1964.
• Recognized by the SV as a Youth Dog Evaluator in 1972.
• SV Schutzhund Judge from 1974 to 1981.
• Member of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America since 1981.
• Became USA's first Conformation Judge in 1997, was appointed Breed Survey Judge in 2002, and became a USA Schutzhund Judge in 2003.
• Has been a Breed Warden in Germany and also in the US.
• Became USA's first National Breed Warden in 1999. And as such:
  • Supervises the national breeding of the German Shepherd Dog. Safeguards proper breeding practices and ensures that all areas of activity are accurately recorded in the national Breed Books.
  • Guides the genetic selection through programs such as the Breed Surveys and breeding evaluations. Records and analyzes the results of such selections and makes general statements that set the direction of the national breed program.
  • Supervises the activity of Regional and Local Breed Wardens (assistants to the National Breed Warden). Devises and proposes national policies regulating these offices.
  • Oversees the proper functioning of national breed events. Promotes similar events at regional and local levels.
  • Presides as chairperson for the National Breed Advisory Committee. Guides the affairs of this committee as advisor to the Board.
• Organized three USA Sieger Shows and judged the last three USA Sieger Shows as well as shows in other countries.
• Earned the USA Gold Sports Medal, competed in the North American Championship, 3 European Championships and the first WUSV World Championship.
• Was in the top 3 places for the USA Breeders Cup Award 6 times and has placed in the top 4 of the USA Top 10 Breeders of All Time list for the past 6 years.

• Member of USA Executive Board from 1988 to Present.
• Received USA Performance Judges license in 1992.
• USA Director of Judges in 1996 to Present.
• Has judged the USA FH Championship, USA National Championship, the USA World Qualifier, Performance Judge at the last 3 USA Sieger Shows, the National Championship of South Africa, and other trials abroad.
• Tracklayer multiple times for Regional Championships, USA National Schutzhund 3 Championship, USA North American Championship, USA FH Championship, and USA World Qualifier.
