This is an overview map from LAX to Bakersfield. The trip is approximately 118 miles. Once you reach the town of Castaic (on map, just above Santa Clarita) you will be one hour from Bakersfield.
Depending upon time of day, it will take you one hour or more to get from the airport to Castaic. When planning your travel time, please take into consideration rush hour (heavy traffic) times, usually 6 am to 9 am and 3 pm to 6 pm.
Complete directions LAX to host hotel:
- Exit the airport, head RIGHT onto West Century Blvd.
- Travel approximately 1.5 miles and take the onramp for I - 405 North (also known as the San Diego Fwy).
- Watch for signs for Interstate 5 North and merge from the 405 to the 5.
- After you go past the town of Castaic and over the mountains, watch for signs for Hwy 99 North towards Bakersfield and merge from I-5 to Hwy 99.
- Just after you pass over the Rosedale Hwy take the exit for Buck Owens Blvd. The exit puts you on Sillect Avenue. The first stop light (a very few yards off the exit) is Buck Owens Blvd.
- Turn RIGHT onto Buck Owens Blvd. The intersection has the Crystal Palace across the street to the SE and next to that is of course, the Best Western Hotel.
